Additional bylaws changes proposed

I am drafting additional proposed by-laws changes. I have posted them to my web site (http://www.witte-family.net/df/bylaws.htm) so that members who support these initiatives may download them and sign. I will be sending them to DF via registered mail once I have collected 25 signatures for each.

Proposals so far include:

Amendment Proposal #1 -This amendment proposal seeks to remove the stipulation that Directors must be Colorado residents.

Amendment Proposal #2 - This amendment proposal seeks to add a board-appointed Director of Communications who would be responsible for authoritative communications to the General Membership and maintenance of the Dragonfest web site.

Amendment Proposal #3 - Some members of the General Membership have requested the detailed vote counts. This amendment seeks to provide detailed information about the election to the General Membership in a timely fashion.

Amendment Proposal #4 - This amendment proposal seeks to place some limits on eligibility for the position of Director of Operations. Under this proposal, an active member of the Board of Directors could not serve as Director of Operations. Further, a term limit of 3 years would be imposed (with a stopgap that a member could serve in this position longer if no eligible candidates were available). This would ensure we bring fresh people and fresh ideas to this important leadership position.

Discussion on DFDiscuss has included "conflict of interest" as a topic related to Amendment Proposal #4. The proposal itself, however, does not raise this as an issue.

Greetings again.

The "conflict of interest" I was considering is one of economic / financial conflict such as Board members benefitting financially from vendor participation. Vendors being any individual or business that provides Dragonfest with goods or services..... food, equipment rental, etc.
