July Dragonfest News

Dear Dragonfest Community:

Dragonfest 2025 is nearly here! Are you counting down the days until the gate opens at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, July 30? Here’s the latest news:

Registration

Deadline approaching!

Online registration closes at 11:59:59 p.m. on Wednesday, July 23 so that our gate team has time to make the schedule. After that, the only option is at-the-gate registration. At-the-gate registration is $50 more than the prices listed on the website, and we can only take cash in exact change.

Save that hassle and register today!

Annual Community Meeting

Saturday, August 2, 12-1:30 PM, Community Center
Each year we hold a meeting for all Dragonfest members. Come to the Community Center and bring a bag lunch to listen to the facts and figures being presented by the Board, ask questions, express concerns, or comment on Dragonfest’s operations.

This year we have provided the Agenda and Reports for the Community Meeting in advance so that members have time to review, think over, and come to the meeting with questions/ideas.

2025 Program & Map

We are providing the 2025 Program in advance of the retreat this year in digital format. Paper programs will be available at the gate as well. We have also provided this year’s map in case you would like to print a personal copy.

Helpful Tidbits

  • New this year: Attendees with mobility concerns can now borrow radios to directly call a shuttle to their location for a ride! Radios can be checked out upon arrival at gate. If you have any questions about this before Fest, please contact rachelle@dragonfest.org.
  • The old Dragonfest Camping Checklist was a scanned photocopy, so this year Communications re-typed the checklist. It’s available in a printable PDF and an editable Excel spreadsheet.
  • As of Monday, July 21, there is no fire ban in either of the two counties where Dragonfest takes place. However, fire bans can be mandated at any time and without prior notice. It is a great idea to have a propane stove for cooking in case a fire ban is called.
  • Remember to bring: your painted rock for the Labyrinth, bubbles/noise makers/acoustic instruments for the opening ritual, your onesie/kigurumi if you have one.

Breakfast Meal Plans Info

Don’t forget: hot breakfast is now only available to those who purchased a breakfast meal plan (the deadline was June 30). Anyone who didn’t purchase breakfast is still welcome to bring their own food to the Community Center to eat breakfast together and listen to the morning announcements.

Breakfast Theme Days at the Community Center

  • Thursday: Crazy Hat Day
  • Friday: Hawaiian Shirt Day
  • Saturday: Dragonfest Costume

Historical Committee Donations

If you have old Dragonfest programs or related memorabilia that you’d like to unload, you can donate it to the Historical Committee. Please bring your item(s) with you to Fest and drop off with Lyn in the InCahoots Creations merchant tent.

Kidsfest and Teenfest Donations Request

Kidsfest and Teenfest are requesting donations of scraps of yarn, drinks, and snacks for both Kidsfest and the Heathen Games. We hope community members will contribute and also invite them to stay, participate, and play with the kids. We’re expecting around 10 children at Kidsfest, and the number of participants in the Heathen Games is uncertain.
