Intentional Spaces
Intentional Spaces
Dragonfest offers the following intentional spaces in the hope that this makes the retreat more enjoyable for everyone. We welcome all people to all parts of the retreat, but these intentional spaces offer additional opportunities to find community for those who need it.
Lavender Pavilion
Lavender Pavilion is Dragonfest’s dedicated LGBTQIA+ space. Lavender pavilion offers a safe place for anyone who identifies as LGBTQIA+ within the Dragonfest community. You will find Lavender Pavilion in a 10×20 space near the community center at the retreat. Just look for the pride flags!
Lavender pavilion offers a meeting place for anyone who is seeking community with other LGBTQIA+ folx at Dragonfest. During the retreat, a variety of activities are offered for the community, such as crafts, workshops, festival clothing swaps and more.
If you have questions about Lavender Pavilion, please email lavenderpavilion@dragonfest.org
Phoenix Circle
Phoenix Circle is Dragonfest’s dedicated space for pagans in recovery from all substances or processes, including, but not limited to drugs, alcohol, food, gambling, etc. Phoenix Circle is run by fellow pagans in recovery. No drugs or alcohol are allowed in Phoenix Circle camp at any time. Phoenix Circle is a dedicated camp where daily recovery meetings are held at noon during the retreat. Someone is almost always there to talk to if you need a sober friend.
If you have questions about Phoenix Circle, or would like to connect with us prior to the retreat, please email: phoenixcircle@dragonfest.org
Grounding & Centering
Grounding and Centering is a space for people who need to get grounded or centered when they are feeling out of sorts (but not ill or injured, we have a medical tent for that) for whatever reason. Someone should always be nearby the grounding and centering area to help when people arrive. Attendants and volunteers are there to chat or help folx ground if they need it. It’s a great place to visit if you just need a place to chill for a bit. The grounding and centering tent is a 10×10 space with pillows, tapestries and other comfy things that will help people relax.
